Bulk Actions: Add/Edit to Company

Learn how to assign, update, or remove company associations across multiple BizStackPro contacts without editing every contact record.

Quick Answer

How do you associate multiple contacts with a company?

Open Contacts or a Smart List, select the contacts, open the bulk actions menu, and choose Add/Edit to Company. Select the existing company, choose the available association option, name the request, and confirm the action. Review the results from Contacts → Bulk Actions.

What the Add/Edit to Company Bulk Action Does

Companies allow several contacts to be organized under one business record.

The Add/Edit to Company bulk action lets you associate selected contacts with a company, update an existing association, or remove the association when that option is available.

This can be useful for B2B contact management, multi-location businesses, account-based sales, teams, vendors, and other situations where several people belong to the same organization.

Existing associations may be replaced

Assigning a new company may override the company already associated with a selected contact. Review the contact selection carefully before confirming the action.

Before You Begin

Confirm the company record, contact selection, and expected result before running the bulk action.

  • Create the company record before running the bulk action.
  • Confirm the exact company the contacts should be associated with.
  • Review whether selected contacts already belong to another company.
  • Decide whether the action should add, update, or remove an association.
  • Use a Smart List when only a specific contact segment should change.
  • Test the process with five to ten contacts when overrides are a concern.
  • Prepare a clear name for the bulk action request.
  • Sign in to your BizStackPro account.

Step 1: Select the Contacts

Choose the contact records whose company association should be added, updated, or removed.

Open Contacts or a Smart List

Open Contacts or select the Smart List containing the records you want to update.

Select Individual Contacts

Use the checkbox beside each contact when only specific records should be updated.

Select the Current Page

Use the checkbox at the top of the table to select every contact displayed on the current page.

Select the Full Database When Needed

If the bulk action should apply to every contact, use the additional select-all option that appears after selecting the page, when available.

Review the Contact Count

Confirm how many contacts are selected before opening the bulk actions menu.

Confirm the selection before continuing

A full-database selection can update many contact-to-company relationships at once. Make sure the selected list is correct.

Step 2: Run Add/Edit to Company

Open the bulk action, select the company, and confirm how the association should change.

Open the Bulk Actions Menu

After selecting the contacts, open the bulk actions toolbar or menu.

Select Add/Edit to Company

Choose Add/Edit to Company.

Select the Company

Choose the existing company record that should be associated with the selected contacts.

Choose the Association Option

Select the available option to add, update, or remove the company association.

Name the Bulk Action

Enter a descriptive name so the request can be identified later in the bulk actions history.

Review the Selection

Confirm the company, contact count, and association option.

Confirm the Bulk Action

Click Confirm to begin processing the request.

The bulk action may override existing associations

Contacts already connected to another company may be reassigned to the company selected in the bulk action. There is no automatic undo option.

Step 3: Monitor the Bulk Action

Review the request status while BizStackPro processes the selected contacts.

Open Contacts

Return to the Contacts area.

Open Bulk Actions

Open the Bulk Actions area, commonly listed as Contacts → Bulk Actions.

Find the Named Request

Locate the request using the name you entered before confirmation.

Review the Status

Check whether the request is processing, completed, or failed.

Verify Contact Records

Open a few affected contacts and confirm that the correct company association appears.

Rerun Smaller Batches if Needed

If the request fails or produces unexpected results, reduce the contact selection and try again with a smaller batch.

Important Company Association Notes

Company Must Exist First

Create the company record before trying to associate contacts with it.

Existing Associations May Change

Assigning a new company may replace the company already connected to a selected contact.

Removal Depends on Available Options

The ability to remove a company association depends on the options shown in the bulk action menu.

Bulk Actions Are Not Automatically Reversible

Incorrect associations must be corrected with another bulk action or by editing the affected contacts.

Company Association Best Practices

Create the Company First
Reason: The company record must exist before contacts can be associated with it.
Use a Small Test Batch
Reason: Testing five to ten contacts helps confirm how existing company associations will be handled.
Name Every Bulk Request
Reason: A descriptive name makes the request easier to find and review in the bulk actions history.
Use Smart Lists for Data Cleanup
Reason: Smart Lists can isolate only the contacts whose company association needs to change.
Verify the Results
Reason: Opening a few updated contact records confirms that the intended company association was applied correctly.
