Editing Pending and Processing Bulk Actions

Learn how to review and adjust queued or processing bulk actions so future batches continue with the delivery settings you need.

Quick Answer

How do you edit a pending or processing bulk action?

Open Contacts → Bulk Actions, locate the queued or processing action, open the three-dot (⋮) menu, choose Edit, adjust available delivery settings such as batch size or drip intervals, and save the changes. Updates generally apply to remaining batches rather than batches that have already run.

Queued vs Processing: What's the Difference?

A bulk action may already be scheduled or running when you realize its delivery settings need to change.

A Queued bulk action is scheduled but has not started running yet.

A Processing bulk action has already started and is executing in batches, which is common when using Drip Mode.

Editing a bulk action generally affects future batches. Batches that have already been processed are not changed retroactively.

Changes apply going forward

If part of a bulk action has already been processed, editing the action changes the remaining delivery rather than undoing completed batches.

Before You Begin

Review the bulk action before making changes so you understand its current status and what remains to be processed.

  • Sign in to your BizStackPro account.
  • Open the Contacts area.
  • Identify the bulk action you want to review.
  • Check whether its status is Queued or Processing.
  • Decide whether the remaining batch size or drip timing needs to change.
  • Remember that completed batches cannot be changed retroactively.

Step 1: View Your Bulk Actions

Start by locating the action and checking its current status.

Open Contacts

From your BizStackPro account, go to Contacts.

Open Bulk Actions

Open the Bulk Actions area or tab available in your Contacts layout.

Check the Status Column

Review the Status column to determine whether the action is Queued or Processing.

Step 2: Edit a Bulk Action

Adjust available delivery settings for the remaining batches.

Locate the Bulk Action

In Contacts → Bulk Actions, find the action you want to adjust.

Open the Actions Menu

Click the three-dot (⋮) menu in the Actions column.

Select Edit

Choose Edit from the available options.

Adjust the Delivery Settings

Update the available delivery settings as needed.

This may include changing the batch size, such as increasing a batch from 10 contacts to 50, or adjusting drip or interval settings when those options are available.

Save the Changes

Click Save to apply the new settings.

What the edit affects

Updated settings typically apply to remaining batches. Anything already sent or processed will not be changed retroactively.

Bulk Action Best Practices

Use Drip Mode for Larger Lists
Reason: Drip Mode lets you process contacts in batches over time instead of sending everything at once.
Watch Processing Progress
Reason: Monitoring the Status column helps you understand how much of the bulk action has already been completed.
Adjust Remaining Batches When Needed
Reason: If an action is processing, changing the batch size can speed up or slow down the remaining delivery.
Correct Problems Early
Reason: If you notice a targeting or content problem, make changes before additional batches are processed whenever possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I do with the Bulk Actions feature in the Contacts section?
Bulk Actions let you apply one-off actions to multiple contacts, including sending SMS or email, applying tags, assigning workflows or campaigns, and making other contact updates.
How does "Send in Drip Mode" work?
Drip Mode processes contacts in batches over time, such as a set number of contacts per hour or per day, to pace the delivery.
Can I edit a Bulk Action after it's scheduled?
Yes. If the action is queued or processing, you can typically edit available batch settings so the changes apply to the remaining batches.
How do I check if a Bulk Action is queued or processing?
Go to Contacts → Bulk Actions and review the Status column. Queued means the action has not started, while Processing means it is currently running.
How can I edit a queued Bulk Action?
Open the three-dot menu for the bulk action, choose Edit, adjust the available delivery settings, and save the changes before the first batch runs.
