Quick Answer
Which bulk action delivery option should you use?
Use Immediate when a smaller or non-message bulk action should begin as soon as it is confirmed. Use Drip Mode to spread messages over time. If a request is still processing and an issue is discovered, open the bulk request area and select Cancel when that option is available.
What Bulk Action Delivery Options Control
Bulk action delivery options control how a bulk request is processed after contacts and an action have been selected.
Depending on the action, the final confirmation step may be called Delivery Settings, Schedule, or Send Options.
These settings may allow the request to begin immediately, process gradually through Drip Mode, or be canceled while work is still pending or processing.
Test a small contact selection first
When you are unsure about the targeting, content, or result, test the bulk action with approximately five to ten contacts before running the full request.

Step 1: Find the Bulk Action Delivery Options
Delivery options usually appear during the final step before the bulk request is confirmed.
Select the Contacts
Select the individual contacts or Smart List that should be included in the bulk action.
Choose the Bulk Action
Select the action you want to perform, such as sending an email or SMS, adding contacts to a campaign, applying tags, or updating contact information.
Complete the Required Settings
Add the required message, template, campaign, tag, pipeline, or other information for the selected action.
Review the Final Step
Look for a section labeled Delivery Settings, Schedule, or Send Options.
Choose the Delivery Method
Select the available option that matches how quickly the bulk request should run.
Confirm the Request
Review the contacts, action, and delivery setting before confirming the bulk request.
Delivery Option 1: Immediate
Immediate begins processing the bulk action as soon as the request is confirmed.
This option may be appropriate for smaller contact selections, time-sensitive notifications, or bulk actions that do not involve sending messages.
Small Contact Selections
Immediate delivery can be practical when only a limited number of contacts are included.
Time-Sensitive Notifications
Use immediate delivery when the message must begin sending as soon as the request is confirmed.
Tagging Contacts
Non-message actions such as adding or removing tags may not require paced delivery.
Simple Record Updates
Immediate processing may also suit straightforward updates or pipeline-stage changes.
Review carefully before confirming
An immediate request may begin quickly, leaving less time to identify and stop an incorrect bulk action.
Delivery Option 2: Drip Mode
Drip Mode spreads message delivery over time instead of processing every contact at once.
You select a pacing rate, such as one message every minute, and the bulk request continues gradually according to that schedule.
Reduces Sending Spikes
Gradual delivery prevents the full message volume from being sent at the same moment.
Supports Deliverability
A more controlled pace may help avoid sudden increases in email or SMS sending volume.
Provides a Review Window
Because the request takes longer to complete, you may have more time to identify a problem and cancel the remaining work.
Useful for Larger Lists
Drip Mode is generally more appropriate when a message is being delivered to a larger contact selection.
Start with a conservative pacing rate
For a large list, begin with a slower rate and review delivery, replies, and results before increasing the sending speed.
Delivery Option 3: Cancel a Bulk Request
A bulk request that is still pending or processing may provide a Cancel option that stops the remaining actions.
Work already completed before the cancellation is not reversed. Once the full request has finished, it cannot be undone through the Cancel option.
Open the Bulk Requests Area
Open the area where bulk actions or bulk requests are listed.
Find the Active Request
Locate the request you want to stop.
Review the Current Status
Confirm that the request is still pending or processing.
Select Cancel
Click Cancel when the option is available.
Confirm Processing Has Stopped
Review the request status to verify that no additional contacts will be processed.
Cancel as soon as an issue is found
The longer a request continues processing, the more contacts may receive the message or update before the cancellation takes effect.
