BizStackPro Contacts Help Guide

The Company Tab in Contacts

Learn how to create and manage company records, connect multiple contacts to the same business, and keep company-level details, tasks, notes, and custom fields organized.

Quick Answer

What does the Company tab do in BizStackPro?

The Company tab lets you create business-level records and associate multiple contacts with the same organization. You can store company information, manage linked contacts, add tasks and notes, create custom company fields, and optionally create companies automatically from a contact's Business Name field.

What the Company Tab Does

When several contacts belong to the same organization, managing everything only at the individual-contact level can make the relationship between those people harder to see.

The Company tab helps you manage organizations as separate business records inside the CRM.

Instead of repeating company-wide details across several contacts, you can store business information on the company record and connect the appropriate contacts to it.

Company records can also provide a place for account-level tasks, notes, custom fields, and other information related to the organization.

One company can have multiple contacts

Use the Associations area of a company record to connect multiple people to the same business while keeping the individual contact records intact.

Before You Begin

Decide what business information belongs on the company record and which contacts should be connected to it.

  • Sign in to your BizStackPro account.
  • Confirm you have permission to create or edit companies.
  • Know the company name and any business details you want to store.
  • Identify the contacts that belong to the company.
  • Decide whether company-specific custom fields are needed.
  • Consider whether automatic company creation from Business Name should be enabled.

Step 1: Add a New Company

Create the company record before connecting contacts and adding business-level information.

Open Companies

Go to Contacts → Companies.

Create the Company

Click + New Company.

Enter Company Information

Enter the company details. At minimum, Company Name is required.

Other common fields can include phone, email, website, address, and a description.

Save the Company

Review the information and click Save.

Can't see + New Company?

The original guide states that company creation and editing may require admin permissions. If the button is unavailable, contact the account administrator about access.

Step 2: Edit or Update Company Information

Open the company from the Companies list, update the appropriate fields in the company record or side panel, and click Save to apply the changes.

Step 4: Auto-Create Companies from Business Name

If you want company records created automatically from contact information, go to Settings → Companies and enable automatic company creation from the contact Business Name field.

The original guide also notes that some accounts provide an option to apply this behavior retroactively to existing contacts.

Step 5: Use Tasks, Notes, and Company Tools

Tasks

Use the available task control inside a company record to create and manage follow-ups tied to the business account.

Notes

Store internal context, account history, or team handoff information directly on the company record.

Custom List View

Adjust the Companies list so the columns most useful to your workflow are easier to see.

Advanced Filters

Filter companies using standard company information or custom fields.

Sorting

Sort the Companies list by fields such as name, city, or available custom fields.

Custom Fields

Go to Settings → Custom Fields to create company fields that match the information your business needs to track.

Deleting a Company

From Contacts → Companies, select the company and use Delete to remove the company record.

Deleting a company does not delete its contacts

Removing the company record does not delete the contacts associated with it. Those contact records remain in the CRM.

Company Management Best Practices

Keep Company Information Centralized
Reason: Storing business-wide details on the company record reduces the need to repeat the same information across several contacts.
Link All Relevant Contacts
Reason: Associations make it easier to understand which people belong to the same organization.
Use Company-Level Notes and Tasks
Reason: Business-level follow-ups and context can stay attached to the organization instead of being scattered across individual contact records.
Add Only Useful Custom Fields
Reason: Purposeful fields make company records easier to maintain and keep the Companies view from becoming unnecessarily cluttered.
