BizStackPro Affiliate Manager Help

Manual Sales & Commissions

Learn how to record an affiliate sale manually and assign the correct commission when automatic referral tracking does not capture the transaction.

Quick Answer

Add a verified missing sale from the affiliate’s profile.

Open Marketing → Affiliate Manager, select the affiliate who should receive credit, and open the Commissions section.

Select Add Manual Commissions, choose the customer, enter the transaction information, and save the commission.

Handling Missing Affiliate Sales Without Losing Trust

You may encounter situations where an affiliate clearly referred a customer, but the sale was not recorded through automatic affiliate tracking.

This can happen with offline payments, direct invoices, phone orders, browser tracking restrictions, or special promotions that bypass the normal referral process.

When a valid affiliate sale is not recorded, the affiliate may not receive proper credit. Your commission reports and payout records may also become inaccurate.

Adding the sale manually helps you maintain accurate records, credit affiliates fairly, and preserve confidence in your affiliate program.

Manual Commissions at a Glance

Manual commissions are designed for verified sales that were not recorded through the normal affiliate tracking process.

Location Marketing → Affiliate Manager
Starting Point The affiliate’s profile
Main Action Add Manual Commissions
Customer Record Select an existing contact or add a lead
Optional Reference Event ID and Event Date
Final Check Confirm the commission history

Before You Begin

Gather the correct information before creating the commission so the entry can be recorded accurately.

  • Confirm which affiliate should receive credit.
  • Identify the customer or lead connected to the sale.
  • Verify the correct transaction or revenue amount.
  • Confirm the date the qualifying sale occurred.
  • Locate an invoice number, order number, transaction number, or another reference if you plan to use the Event ID field.
  • Confirm the affiliate campaign connected to the referral when campaign attribution is being used.

Verify the referral first

Only add a manual commission after confirming that the affiliate was responsible for the referral. Manual entries affect reporting and may affect future affiliate payouts.

How to Add a Manual Commission

Follow these steps to record the missing sale and assign it to the correct affiliate.

Open Affiliate Manager

Sign in to your BizStackPro account and open the Affiliate Manager from the Marketing area.

Marketing → Affiliate Manager

Select the Affiliate

Locate the affiliate who should receive credit and open that affiliate’s profile.

Review the affiliate’s name and account information before continuing so the commission is not assigned to the wrong person.

Open the Commissions Section

Scroll to the Commissions section within the affiliate profile.

Select Add Manual Commissions to open the manual commission form.

Select the Customer or Lead

Search for the customer or lead associated with the transaction and select the correct contact record.

When the customer does not already exist, use Add as Lead to create a new record.

Check similar contact records carefully

Confirm the customer’s name, email address, and other identifying information when multiple contacts have similar details.

Enter the Transaction Amount

Enter the revenue or transaction value associated with the affiliate sale.

Make sure the amount matches the value used to calculate the affiliate’s commission. Account for coupons, discounts, refunds, or other adjustments when necessary.

Add an Event ID

The Event ID is an optional reference field that can connect the commission to an invoice, transaction, promotion, order, or internal record.

Using a consistent Event ID can make the commission easier to verify and review later.

Select the Event Date

Enter the date the qualifying transaction or sale occurred.

Using the correct date helps keep the affiliate’s commission history and your reporting organized.

Review and Save

Before saving, confirm the affiliate, customer, transaction amount, Event ID, and Event Date.

When all information is correct, select Save.

Manual Sales Through Campaign Attribution

You can also associate a customer with a specific affiliate campaign from the affiliate profile.

Open the available options next to the affiliate and assign the customer to the appropriate campaign.

Once the customer is attributed to a campaign, qualifying transactions can follow the commission rules configured for that campaign.

Use campaign attribution for ongoing tracking

Campaign attribution can help keep future sales reporting consistent and may reduce the need for repeated manual commission adjustments.

What to Check After Saving

  • The commission appears under the correct affiliate profile.
  • The correct customer or lead is connected to the commission.
  • The transaction amount matches your sales records.
  • The commission follows the intended campaign rules.
  • The entry appears correctly in the affiliate’s commission history.

Important Notes

Coupon and Discount Amounts

What to check: Confirm the final transaction value after coupons or discounts have been applied.
Why it matters: The commission may be calculated from the discounted sale amount rather than the original product price.

Payment Tracking

What to check: Review the payment method and transaction record used for the sale.
Why it matters: Stripe or another connected payment provider may supply the transaction events used by your affiliate campaign.

Refunds and Subscription Changes

What to check: Confirm whether the related payment was refunded, partially refunded, canceled, or changed.
Why it matters: Some subscription refunds or adjustments may require manual review before the affiliate is paid.

One-Time and Recurring Commissions

What to check: Review the commission rules assigned to the affiliate campaign.
Why it matters: Campaigns can use one-time or recurring commissions, and the manual entry should match the intended structure.

Affiliate Payouts

What to check: Review the manual commission before it is included in a payout.
Why it matters: An incorrect affiliate, amount, or campaign assignment may result in an incorrect payment.

Common Use Cases

Manual commissions are useful when the affiliate earned credit, but the transaction did not follow the normal tracked path.

Offline Sales

Credit an affiliate for an in-person purchase, phone order, direct invoice, or another transaction completed outside the normal online checkout process.

Missing Referral Tracking

Add a verified sale when browser settings, cookies, timing, or another technical issue prevented automatic attribution.

Special Promotions

Record a commission for a limited-time promotion that used a purchasing process outside the standard affiliate funnel.

Direct Customer Assignment

Connect a verified customer to the correct affiliate and campaign when the original relationship was not recorded automatically.

Best Practices for Manual Commissions

  • Verify that the affiliate earned credit before creating the commission.
  • Use consistent Event IDs that match your invoices, orders, or transaction records.
  • Record missing commissions as soon as possible after the qualifying sale.
  • Review campaign settings before assigning a recurring commission.
  • Check customer information carefully to avoid selecting or creating a duplicate contact.
  • Review manual commissions before processing affiliate payouts.
  • Keep supporting records for any manual adjustments made to the affiliate account.
