Group Chat for SMS

Learn how to use BizStackPro’s Group Chat feature to bring multiple contacts together in one real-time SMS thread — with delivery status tracking and clear participant visibility.

Messaging Multiple Contacts Without Losing Control of the Conversation

You may need to communicate with multiple people at once, but managing separate conversations can slow everything down.

Group Chat allows you to bring multiple contacts into a single SMS thread so everyone stays on the same page.

Without a shared conversation, updates can become fragmented and harder to coordinate.

This guide will show you how to use group messaging so you can communicate clearly and keep conversations organized.

Once you understand how group chat works, follow the steps below to create threads, manage participants, and track message delivery inside your BizStackPro conversations.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Expanded communication: Add up to 10 participants (including yourself) to one SMS thread.
  • Real-time updates: Participants receive and can respond to messages instantly.
  • Familiar experience: Works like a standard group text message.
  • Status tracking: Monitor delivery results per contact (sent, delivered, failed).

Best practice: Use group chat when you truly need coordination between multiple people — and use individual messages for sensitive or account-specific information.

Step-by-Step: Start a Group Chat

  1. Go to Conversations.
  2. Click Create a New Message (compose icon).
  3. Select Group Message.
  4. Add up to 10 participants (primary or secondary phone numbers).
  5. Select the From number (US/Canada number from your account).
  6. Type your message and click Send to launch the group thread.
  7. Use the chevron / participant area to review member info and delivery status.

Important Notes

  • Locked participants & sender number: After a group is created, the participants and the selected From number cannot be changed.
  • Updated or deleted contacts: Messages keep sending to the originally added phone number. Updated/deleted contacts are labeled inside the thread.
  • DND participants: If a participant enables Do Not Disturb, you’ll need to create a new group without them to continue group messaging.
  • Permissions: Admins typically have broader access. Users may only see group chats tied to contacts they can access, based on permission settings.

Tip: If you’re not seeing group chat options, verify your user permissions and confirm you have access to the sending phone number.

Pro Tips

  • Add strategically: Only include participants who truly need to be in the thread.
  • Check delivery status: Review per-contact status before assuming everyone received the message.
  • Great use cases: Project updates, multi-person scheduling, service coordination, support groups, and reminders.

Simple workflow idea: After a group message goes out, trigger an internal task for your team to follow up 24 hours later with any participant who hasn’t replied.
