Quick Answer
Enable recurring appointments and choose when payment is collected
Open the calendar settings, enable Recurring Appointments, configure the recurring schedule, and choose whether to collect payment for the first appointment only or for all appointments upfront.
Setting Up Recurring Appointments Without Payment Confusion
You may want to schedule ongoing sessions, but it is not always clear how payments work with recurring appointments.
Recurring appointments allow you to automate repeated bookings while controlling how and when payments are collected.
If the payment settings are not configured correctly, you may charge incorrectly, miss payments, or create confusion for clients.
This guide explains how to set up recurring appointments and choose the appropriate payment option for your workflow.

Payment Options for Recurring Appointments
BizStackPro allows payment to be collected in two ways when a recurring appointment series is booked.
First Appointment Only
Charge the client for the first appointment when the recurring series is booked.
This option is useful when later sessions will be billed separately.
All Appointments Upfront
Charge the total amount for every appointment in the recurring series at the time of booking.
This option is useful for packages, programs, or prepaid ongoing services.
Partial payments are not supported
Recurring appointments currently support payment for the first appointment only or payment for the full series upfront. Partial payments are not currently supported.
Advanced Settings to Know
- Recurring appointment series may be limited to a maximum number of repetitions, such as 24 appointments per series.
- Availability behavior may allow the booking to continue, skip unavailable times, or use the next available time, depending on the calendar setup.
- Recurring appointments generally follow the calendar’s standard time-slot rules.
- Custom appointment durations may not be available for recurring series.
- Recurring appointments cannot be bulk canceled or bulk rescheduled.
Calendar Sync Behavior
When third-party calendar sync is enabled, each appointment in the recurring series syncs as an individual event.
This means each appointment can appear separately in connected calendars such as Google Calendar or Outlook.
When the meeting location uses Zoom or Google Meet, each recurring appointment generates its own meeting link dynamically.
Review workflow event filters
Existing workflow triggers may need to be updated with an event-type filter. Available options can include Normal, Recurring, or Any.
