Card Authorization in Websites

Verify available funds before granting access to subscriptions and payment plans—so you can reduce failed first payments and protect your onboarding flow.

Adding an Extra Layer of Protection to Your Website Checkout

You may be selling subscriptions or payment plans through your website, but not every transaction will go through successfully.

Card authorization helps confirm that a customer has sufficient funds before access is granted.

Without this step, you may allow access to users whose payments later fail.

This guide will show you how to enable and manage card authorization so your checkout process stays reliable.

Once you understand how card authorization works, follow the steps below to configure your order forms, set authorization amounts, and apply this feature inside your BizStackPro websites.

Overview

Card Authorization performs a temporary authorization to confirm the customer has available funds for a subscription or payment plan before access is granted. If the authorization succeeds, the customer can move forward and access your offer. If it fails, access is not granted until the payment is successful.

Important: If your plan includes trial days, the trial begins immediately after the card is authorized. The authorized amount is typically released/credited back by the bank, which can take up to 5 business days.

Before You Start

  • Card Authorization is intended for subscriptions and payment plans (not one-time payments).
  • Make sure the Order Form step already has products added.
  • If you’re using multiple products, you’ll enable authorization per product.

Steps to Enable Card Authorization

  1. Open the Website where you want to enable Card Authorization.
  2. Locate the Order Form step in your funnel/website flow.
  3. Click the three dots on the Order Form step and select Products.
  4. If no products are listed, add your product(s) to the order form first.
  5. Click the Edit icon on the product to open Product Settings.
  6. Scroll to the bottom and open Additional Options.
  7. Enable Custom Authorization and enter your desired authorization amount.
  8. Save your changes.

Follow along: Repeat the same steps for each product in the order form if you want authorization enabled on multiple products.

Best Practices

  • Use it only for subscriptions and payment plans (not one-time payments).
  • Set expectations on your checkout page: authorization may appear temporarily and release can take a few days.
  • Choose a sensible authorization amount that confirms validity without surprising customers.
  • Test the flow using a safe test scenario before driving paid traffic to the order form.
