Set Up Payment Plans in Funnels

Offer flexible billing options like recurring payments, trials, and setup fees—directly inside your BizStackPro funnels using Order Form products and connected payment gateways.

Giving Customers Flexible Ways to Pay

You may have an offer ready, but not every customer is able or willing to pay the full amount upfront.

Payment plans allow you to break pricing into smaller, recurring payments, making your offer more accessible.

Without flexible options, some potential buyers may leave before completing the purchase.

This guide will show you how to set up payment plans so you can offer recurring billing, trials, and structured payment options inside your funnels.

Once you understand how payment plans work, follow the steps below to configure your product, attach it to your funnel, and test your checkout setup inside your BizStackPro account.

What “Payment Plans” Mean in BizStackPro

Payment plans are created by setting a product to Recurring pricing, choosing a billing frequency, and (optionally) defining a trial period, number of payments, and a setup fee.

  • Recurring billing: charge weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.
  • Trial period: gives a reduced-cost or delayed first charge (and counts as one payment).
  • Setup fee: one-time charge added at checkout.
  • Variants: different pricing per option (if your product has them).

Follow along: You’ll create a recurring Order Form product, then attach it to the funnel step that contains your Order Form.

Step 1: Create a Recurring Product

  1. Go to Payments → Products.
  2. Click + Create Product.
  3. Add the basics: Title, Description, image, and any tax settings.
  4. In the pricing section, choose Recurring.
  5. Select your billing frequency (example: Monthly).
  6. Enter the recurring price, and any optional fields:
    • Trial period (if applicable)
    • Number of payments (if you want a set payment plan vs ongoing subscription)
    • Setup fee (one-time)
    • Compare-at price (optional)
  7. If this product unlocks a membership, toggle Membership Offer (optional).
  8. Click Create (or Save) to finalize.

Important: Trials count as one payment. If you offer a 7-day trial and set 4 monthly payments, that equals 5 total payments.

If Your Product Has Variants

Variants let you offer different pricing for options (like Basic vs Pro, or different tiers). Make sure you complete the pricing fields for each variant so checkout calculates correctly.

Example: “Monthly” billing stays the same, but each variant can have a different price, setup fee, and payment count.

Step 2: Add the Product to Your Funnel Order Form

  1. Go to Sites → Funnels and open your funnel.
  2. Select the step that contains your Order Form.
  3. Open the step settings and click Products (or the product area).
  4. Add your newly created product (or edit an existing product).
  5. Confirm pricing, trial, number of payments, and setup fee details are correct.
  6. Click Save, then preview the step to verify checkout behavior.

Step 3: Confirm Your Payment Gateway Supports Recurring Billing

Recurring products require a properly connected gateway that can process subscriptions or scheduled charges.

  • Go to your Payments settings and confirm your gateway is connected.
  • Common supported options include Stripe, PayPal, NMI, and Authorize.Net.
  • Run a test purchase (or a low-cost test product) to verify billing behavior.

Pro Tips

  • Be clear on totals: explain trial + number of payments so buyers aren’t surprised.
  • Label your offers: use product labels for promos (example: “Limited Time”).
  • Setup fees: call them out near the price to reduce abandonment.
  • Preview often: confirm variant pricing shows correctly on the order form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use payment plans with all types of products?

No—payment plans can only be used with Order Form products.

How does the trial period affect the payment plan?

The trial counts as one payment. Example: 7-day trial + 4 monthly payments = 5 total payments.

What should I do if I have product variants?

Enter variant-specific pricing details for each option and verify the order form displays the correct totals before publishing.

How do I integrate a payment gateway for recurring products?

Connect your gateway under Payments settings (Stripe, PayPal, NMI, or Authorize.Net) and test a purchase to confirm recurring billing works.
