Setting Up Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) for Payment Links

Offer Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay/Clearpay right inside BizStackPro Payment Links. Powered by Stripe, BNPL gives customers more flexibility—and can help improve conversions on one-time offers.

Adding Flexible Payments to Simple Checkout Links

When using payment links for quick sales, customers may still hesitate if they don’t have flexible payment options available.

Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) allows customers to split payments into installments directly from a payment link checkout.

Without proper setup, these options may not appear, especially if the product type or payment configuration doesn’t meet the requirements.

This guide will walk you through how BNPL works with payment links so you can offer more flexibility and improve conversion on one-time offers.

To begin, review how BNPL works within payment links and which providers are supported.

Overview

Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) lets customers split payments into installments at checkout. In BizStackPro Payment Links, BNPL is supported through Stripe.

  • Klarna
  • Affirm
  • Afterpay/Clearpay

Important: BNPL is for one-time products only. It does not apply to recurring products/subscriptions.

Requirements

  • Stripe required: BNPL payment methods are only available when Stripe is connected as your payment provider.
  • One-time products only: BNPL won’t appear for recurring products.
  • Eligibility rules apply: Provider availability depends on region, business category, and transaction limits.

Pro tip: If a BNPL method won’t enable in Stripe, it’s usually an eligibility restriction (region/business type) or an account setting.

Why Use BNPL on Payment Links

  • Increase conversions: Reduce friction by offering installment options.
  • Keep your automations: Orders and payments still appear under Payments and can trigger workflows like Order Submitted or Payment Received.
  • Works with shareable checkout: Great for email/SMS offers, invoices, and quick-pay campaigns.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Go to Payments → Integrations → Stripe.
  2. Open Manage Payment Methods.
  3. Enable Klarna, Affirm, and/or Afterpay/Clearpay.
  4. Go to Payments → Payment Links and create (or edit) a Payment Link for a one-time product.
  5. Open the Payment Link checkout and confirm BNPL options appear (when eligible).

Follow along: Enable providers in Stripe first—then refresh your Payment Link checkout to see the BNPL options.

Channel Configurations (Optional)

Stripe payment methods can often be controlled by channel. If your settings support it, you can enable/disable BNPL methods for specific checkout experiences.

  • Invoices: BNPL can be available for one-time invoices and Text2Pay links (not recurring autopay).
  • Stores: BNPL can be shown in online store checkouts.
  • Payment Links / Default: Applies to payment links and other one-time checkout experiences.

Troubleshooting

  • Confirm Stripe is connected and the BNPL provider is enabled in Manage Payment Methods.
  • Verify the Payment Link is for a one-time product (not recurring).
  • Check provider eligibility: region, business category, and order amount limits.
  • If you recently changed Stripe settings, refresh the checkout link and try again.

Note: Some Stripe accounts/features roll out in phases. If BNPL still doesn’t appear after confirming everything above, check Stripe payment method settings and contact support if needed.
