Private Integrations – BizStackPro Help

Private Integrations

Securely connect BizStackPro to third-party apps using scoped tokens, modern API access, and fine-grained controlβ€”no public exposure required.

Overview and Benefits

  • Simplicity: Generate and manage tokens directly from account settings.
  • Security: Restrict access using scopes (least privilege) instead of β€œall-or-nothing” access.
  • Modern API: Designed for newer API versions and webhook-based automation.

In plain English: Private Integrations behave like fixed OAuth2-style access tokens with scoped permissionsβ€”safer than broad API keys.

Where to Find Private Integrations

In BizStackPro, look under Settings β†’ Other Settings β†’ Private Integrations. If you don’t see it, enable it in Labs (feature toggle).

Admin note: By default, all admins can create Private Integrations. You can restrict this via Roles & Permissions.

Create a Private Integration

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Other Settings β†’ Private Integrations.
  2. Click Create New Integration.
  3. Add a clear Name and Description (who/what it’s for).
  4. Select only the required scopes/permissions (least privilege).
  5. Click Generate Token and copy it immediately (you won’t be able to view it again).

Best practice: Store tokens in a password manager or secrets vaultβ€”never in chat, screenshots, or plain text docs.

Use the Token in API Calls

When calling BizStackPro APIs from a third-party app, send your token in the Authorization header (like an access token).

Reminder: If you change scopes, the existing token can remain validβ€”you’re just changing what it’s allowed to do.

Build safer integrations with scoped access

Private Integrations help you connect tools while keeping access limited to only what’s necessary.

Manage, Edit, or Delete Integrations

  • Edit details: Update name/description any time.
  • Adjust scopes: Add/remove permissions as needed (least privilege).
  • Delete: Remove an integration when it’s no longer needed.

Important: Editing name/description/scopes does not automatically generate a new token.

Security and Token Rotation

  • Rotate tokens every 90 days (recommended).
  • Expire old tokens once the new token is live in connected apps.
  • Rotate immediately after staff/vendor turnover or suspected exposure.

If a token is compromised: rotate it right away in Settings, then update the token in every connected app/service.
