Ship what’s ready now and the rest later. Fulfill select items or quantities, attach tracking per shipment, and keep customers informed automatically.
When orders include multiple items, it’s common for some products to be ready while others are still pending or out of stock.
Partial fulfillment allows you to ship available items first while keeping the remaining items open for later shipment.
Without this option, orders may be delayed entirely, leading to longer wait times and increased customer inquiries.
This guide will walk you through how to split shipments and manage fulfillment so orders can move forward without unnecessary delays.
To begin, review what partial fulfillment does and how it handles multiple shipments within a single order.
Partial fulfillment lets you split an order into multiple shipments. You choose which items (and quantities) ship now, add tracking for that shipment, and leave the rest pending until you’re ready to fulfill later.
Pro tip: Treat each partial fulfillment like its own shipment—add a tracking URL whenever possible.
Follow along: Payments → Orders → View Order Details → Fulfill Items.
Select the items you’re shipping now and set the quantity for each line item. Any remaining quantity stays pending for later.
Quick check: Before saving, confirm the “remaining” quantity matches what should ship later.
Pro tip: Always include a tracking URL if the carrier provides one—this cuts down support requests fast.
After saving, your order’s Fulfillment section will list each partial shipment with its items, quantities, and tracking details.
