Automate collections for installment invoices. Create a payment schedule, turn on Auto-Payment, and let BizStackPro charge future installments on the due dates.
When invoices are split into multiple payments, it can be difficult to track each due date and follow up consistently.
Auto-payment works with payment schedules to automatically charge future installments using a saved payment method.
Without automation, payments may be missed, delayed, or require repeated reminders to keep everything on track.
This guide will walk you through how to enable auto-payment on scheduled invoices so each installment is handled automatically.
To begin, review how auto-payment works and what conditions are required for it to run correctly.
Auto-payment can be enabled only when an invoice includes a payment schedule. Typically, the customer pays the first installment manually, and future installments are charged automatically using the saved payment method.
Example: 50% due today + 50% due next week for a simple two-part payment plan.
Pro tip: Add one line in your invoice message explaining that future installments will be charged automatically on the due dates.
If you receive an offline payment (cash/check) or need to reconcile a special situation, you can manually record an installment.
Status behavior: The invoice stays Partially Paid until the full schedule is completed, then changes to Paid.
Auto-pay keeps installment invoices moving on schedule—without manual reminders for every due date.
Opens in a new tab.
Auto-payments can only be enabled for invoices with a defined payment schedule.
You’ll see the failed attempt in Payments/Transactions and should ask the customer to update their payment method to avoid disruption.
Yes. Customers can opt out by updating payment preferences. Explain benefits upfront to improve adoption.
Update the invoice schedule and notify the customer. Make sure changes are clearly communicated and agreed upon.
Build schedules customers can understand, enable auto-pay, and keep your billing predictable—while BizStackPro handles the follow-through.
More consistency. Less admin time.
